MEET KATE
Hi, I’m Kate….
A coach, an HR leader, and someone who believes that the most meaningful growth happens when we slow down long enough to actually listen.
I've spent 18 years inside organizations watching how people are treated when things are good and when things get hard. What I kept seeing was the same pattern: HR brought in to fix problems instead of prevent them. Leaders promoted without support. Culture talked about but never actually built.
Side B exists because I believe there's a better way. Human capital isn't a cost to manage. It's the engine of everything. And when organizations treat it that way, growth follows.
I'm a coach at heart, which means I ask a lot of questions, listen closely, and care about the people I work with, not just the deliverables.

BACKGROUND
The through line.
Since 2008 I've worked as an HR leader across industries. What I always cared most about wasn't the policies or the org charts. It was the people. Setting leaders up to manage with clarity and confidence. Helping organizations build cultures that actually support the humans inside them.
It turns out that question sounds a lot like the one I ask my coaching clients. The work is the same at its core: helping people and organizations get honest about who they are, what they value, and how to build something sustainable from that place.

VALUES & VISION
At Side B, we believe joy is non-negotiable.
It's the thing that makes growth sustainable, curiosity genuine, authenticity possible, and courage worth it. Because meaningful work should leave room for both progress and humanity. Not just for the person doing it and the culture built around it.
Our values reflect how we show up: thoughtfully, honestly, and always at a human pace.
-
Sustainable growth isn't rushed. We believe in progress that actually sticks, for people and organizations, without the burnout, pressure, or performance.
-
We come to every person, team, and challenge with genuine curiosity by asking questions before drawing conclusions, and staying open to what we might not expect to find.
-
Being real isn't a destination, it's something we choose every day. We do honest work, have honest conversations, and help others find their way back to what's true for them.
-
The biggest shifts rarely come from grand gestures. We honor the quiet courage it takes to look inward, say the hard thing, or simply decide to do it differently.
OUTSIDE OF WORK
The human behind the work.
I find joy in the quiet, textured things. Vinyl records, second-hand shops, good coffee, and a strong cup of something warm. Music, voice memos, cooking. My most underrated stress reliever.
I'm lucky to have a husband, two daughters, and a circle of women who have known me and loved me exactly as I am for most of my life. That's the kind of space I try to create in this work too.
